BACP Registered Therapist Offering Anxiety Therapy for Adults and Teens, Relationship Counselling for Couples in Exeter and Across the UK

Therapy for Adults, Couples and Teens

About Renee

My name is Renee Norris and I am an  Exeter therapist working with Anxiety & Depressions Therapist seeing clients all around the UK.  I work with adults, couples and teenagers who are struggling with Anxiety & Depression.   I work from my office in Exeter and serve the local area of Exeter and East Devon. In addition to working with individuals and couples in Exeter I see clients all across the UK via Zoom link sessions.  This has brought clients to my door from places as far away as Europe and even America.  Working online means I can offer help with anxiety and depression to most people, anywhere and even times that suit the client.

I would like to share a little bit about who I am professionally and privately.

Exeter therapist anxiety depression specialist

Professionally:

I studied Integrative Counselling at Worcester University.  I am passionate about helping clients to improve their relationships, mental health and general well-being. I find this process does require collaboration between two willing participants, i.e. Counsellor and Client.  I work with individuals and teenagers on a 1-2-1 basis and couples. Working as a therapist with clients with anxiety and depression in the Exeter area or further afield in cities such as Bath, Aderley Edge, Bristol, Cambridge and Chiswick London allows me to reach a variety of clients with varying complexities.

I obtained my primary Counselling degree with Worcester University.  In addition, I continually engage in education to broaden my understanding. Please see the list below for details of the additional training I have undertaken.

I attend monthly clinical supervision, which provides a framework that helps to keep client work safe and focused.

It is my belief that life can throw most of us a curve ball at some time in our life.  This could be the death of a loved one, breakdown in a relationship, financial problems or simply the ageing process.  It may present in a variety of dis-ease.   It is during these times that many people benefit from additional support through some form of counselling or therapy.  It is also my belief that not every therapy fits every client.  For this reason, I have developed an approach which listens closely to the needs of the client and is driven by those needs. For example, one client may want to just have the security of someone who they can “check-in” with, while another client may wish to explore ways to make significant changes in their life.

Privately:

I have lived in Devon for over 20 years now and enjoy living in a rural setting on the outskirts of Exeter.  I am a cat person in a village of dog walkers.  I have tried to teach my cat to walk on a lead but she protested.  This isn’t actually true, just checking if you are reading.

When I am not working with clients I enjoy a variety of interest and hobbies;

  • Family and friends
  • Painting
  • Gardening
  • Crafting
  • Collecting books and reading
  • Volunteering
  • Local politics
  • Photography
  • French and Scandinavian cinema
My favourite place to be is in my garden.  In my garden I might just sit and relax watching the resident squirrels stealing seeds from the birds, or have family BBQ’s.  A lot of things can happen in a garden.

I have been described as open, warm, and easy to get along with.

I believe that a healthy relationship doesn’t drag you down, it inspires you to be better (Mandy Hill) Therefore, my aim is to be in a relationship with all of my clients and provide a healthy platform where my client can flourish and be who and what they want to be.
