Notice of Change to Session Delivery during Coronavirus (Covid-19) Lockdown

I am writing to you today to advise of some temporary changes to the way we may meet and conduct our counselling sessions, in light of recent developments in the news.  Currently we meet face-to-face, however with the recent health concerns and government advice I have taken the decision to continue operating, however all sessions will be moved to one of 3 methods, with immediate effect.

Temporary session options offered going forward

  1. Telephone
  2. Video Calls (Zoom)
  3. Texting

How will these sessions work?

  1. Telephone sessions
    1. Sessions will still last the usual 1-hour.
    2. You will need to find a quiet and private place to speak.
    3. I will wait for your call at the agreed time.
  2. Video Calls (Zoom, Skype or FaceTime)
    1. Sessions will still last the usual 1-hour.
    2. You will need to have a video enabled device, such as a phone, ipad, tablet or laptop available.
    3. You will receive a link to join at the agreed time.
    4. Skype calls can be made to

  3. Texting
    1. We would agree a time or times to text and we would agree to devote 1 hour, which could be split into 1 or two sessions in a week. We can discuss further.

What about payment?

I am able to accept payment in the following formats:

  1. Virtual card payment over the phone at the start of the session from one of the following card types
    • Visa Debit
    • Visa/Master Credit Card

What if I do not want to work this way?

As we have established a good working relationship I would hope that the transition to digital contact would not be a cause of concern and have little or no impact. This method may not work for everyone, however in the view of recent recommendations from the WHO (World Health Organisation) I feel it is important to observe safe practices, for all our health.

If you choose to end sessions as a result of this I will of course respect your decision and ask that we have a phone conversation to discuss this so that we are parting in peace. I will notify you when I am able to resume face-to-face contact.

When will we go back to face-to-face

I will monitor the situation closely and will keep you up on any changes.
